Though Karen\u00a0left an indelible impression on fans of the genre, she quickly progressed to more mainstream films (<em>The Ballad of Josie<\/em>, <em>Sullivan\u2019s Empire<\/em>, etc.) and TV shows (<em>The Wild Wild West<\/em>, <em>Run for Your Life<\/em>, <em>Bob Hope Chrysler Theatre<\/em>, etc.).\u00a0 In 1970 she was cast as one of a trio of starlets looking for fame in the series <em>Bracken\u2019s World<\/em>.\u00a0 As the ambitious one, Jensen had the breakout role and for a time captured the public\u2019s attention.\u00a0 \u201cThis was an actress\u2019s dream role,\u201d commented Karen.\u00a0 She received numerous invitations to appear on all the popular talk and game shows and graced the covers of such magazines as <em>TV Guide<\/em> and <em>Show<\/em> who called her \u201ctelevision\u2019s first real sex symbol.\u201d\u00a0 After <em>Bracken\u2019s World<\/em> folded in 1971, Karen\u2019s most notable film credit was the espionage thriller <em>The Saltzburg Connection<\/em> (1972) co-starring Barry Newman.\u00a0 She retired from acting a few years later and is currently wed to actor Brendon Boone.<\/p>\n<p>Read my interview with Karen Jensen in my book <em><strong>Fantasy Femmes of Sixties Cinema<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"OUT OF SIGHT Movie Trailer 1966\" width=\"1170\" height=\"878\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/mvaRFPXVwcg?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/tomlisanti.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/apamelar.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3850\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-3850\" src=\"https:\/\/tomlisanti.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/apamelar.jpg\" alt=\"apamelar\" width=\"201\" height=\"251\" \/><\/a>A curvaceous statuesque baby-face redhead with a button nose and little girl voice, Pamela Rodgers\u00a0always seemed on the verge of stardom but never made it to the big time. She\u00a0made her film debut in <em>Dr. Goldfoot and the Bikini Machine<\/em> (1965) where she pranced around in a gold lame bikini then played a Slaygirl in <em>The Silencers<\/em>. More small roles followed in\u00a0<em>T<\/em><em>hree on a Couch<\/em>, <em>The Oscar<\/em>, and <em>Out of Sight\u00a0<\/em>as one of Karen Jensen&#8217;s bikini-clad friends. She was a regular for a year each on the sitcom\u00a0<em>Hey, Landlord!<\/em> and the variety series\u00a0<em>The Jonathan Winters Show<\/em>, which led to co-starring role in <em>The Big Cube<\/em> with George Chakiris and Lana Turner; and a funny bit in <em>The Maltese Bippy<\/em> with Rowan &amp; Martin who brought her on to <em>Laugh-In<\/em>.
