He goes to work for promoter Jan Murray\u2019s \u201cthrill circus\u201d and falls for his daughter Annette Funicello. If you can&#8217;t get Frankie Avalon, Fabian is a nice subsitute. Diane McBain is once again the bad girl as Fabian\u2019s thrill-seeking\u00a0 former girlfriend who uses rival racecar driver Warren Berlinger to get back at her ex. Though directed by Richard Rush (<em>The Stunt Man<\/em>), <em>Thunder Alley<\/em> is a standard programmer but perfect for the sixties drive-in crowd. Choreography was actor\/dancer Christopher Riordan and former beach party gals Salli Sachse, Mary Hughes, and Luree Holmes decorate the background.<\/p>\n<p>Commenting in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Fantasy-Femmes-Sixties-Cinema-Interviews\/dp\/0786461012\/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&amp;ie=UTF8&amp;qid=1521739717&amp;sr=1-1&amp;keywords=fantasy+femmes\"><strong><em>Fantasy Femmes of Sixties Cinema<\/em><\/strong><\/a>, Diane McBain said with a laugh:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t remember much about this film.\u00a0 Most of my off screen time was spent watching them film <em>In the Heat of the Night<\/em> with Sidney Poitier next door&#8230;But I did enjoy working with Fabian.\u00a0 He\u2019s very nice.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/tomlisanti.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/Diane-and-Fabian.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-4171\" src=\"https:\/\/tomlisanti.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/Diane-and-Fabian-300x193.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"193\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The AIP racecar drama Thunder Alley opened.\u00a0Fabian is a stock car racer suspended from racing after he causes the death of another driver.
