So sad to hear of the passing of #JoanStaley<\/a>. She was a Playboy Playmate and guest starred on many sixties TV shows and was a regular on The Lively Ones and Broadside. On the big screen she had small roles in Breakfast and Tiffany’s and Cape Fear. Her most remembered is arguably playing opposite #DonKnotts<\/a> in The Ghost and Mr. Chicken which was a big box office hit. I interviewed Joan for my first book Fantasy Femmes of Sixties Cinema<\/a><\/em><\/strong>. Her most amusing quote was when she said that she told her agents, “practically every Joan in town [i.e. Joan Blackman and Joan O’Brien] has worked with #ElvisPresley<\/a> but me and I knew him back when he was in Memphis!” Her snit worked and she landed a supporting role in Roustabout (female lead Joan Freeman) where she didn’t kiss but slapped the King. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
